How to Make Christmas in the Air!

Christmas in the Air is a simple stovetop recipe to make your entire home smell like the holiday season! It makes your home smell so incredibly wonderful- it’s perfect for hosting holiday parties or cozy cold winter days. Grab a good book and cuddle up in front of the fireplace or gather with friends & family while you simmer this on your stovetop throughout the holiday season. A big thank you to my mother-in-law Peggy for sharing this with me many years ago (her handwritten recipe is the feature image for this post)!

Christmas in the Air Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup mulling spices – I like Williams Sonoma Mulling Spices
  • 1/2 fresh orange sliced, leave the peel on
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla
  • 4 cups of water
  • 3 cinnamon sticks

Step One: Using a 1.5 quart saucepan add all of the above ingredients to the pan.

Step Two: Turn the heat on medium to simmer your Christmas in the Air! Reduce heat as needed – you do not want it to boil.

Note: This can be used for hours, just keep adding water so it won’t burn. When you are done simmering the mixture you can use a small colander to capture the mulling spices, oranges and cinnamon sticks which can be put in the compost.

Enjoy!

My beloved mama, Kelly passed away in late 2020 and this website is dedicated to her - she taught me to be a grateful heart and see the beauty that surrounds me in all that I do.
