How to make Strawberry Shortcake
Strawberry shortcake is one of my Dad’s favorite desserts! Last summer when I was visiting him in Iowa we picked up some strawberries and I created this very simple strawberry shortcake biscuit recipe with ingredients we had on hand. This recipe makes 4 biscuits and bakes in just 14 minutes – fast and delicious!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Bisquick
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 4 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar + more for sprinkling on top
- 1 cup sliced strawberries
- Whipped cream
Step One: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Melt the butter in a microwave safe bowl.
Step Two: Add the Bisquick, milk, and cinnamon sugar to the bowl and mix well.
Step Three: On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper scoop out 4 biscuits. Sprinkle more cinnamon sugar on top. Bake for 14 minutes.
Step Four: When the biscuits are slightly cooled slice them in half and fill with whipped cream and half of the strawberries.
Step Five: Place the biscuit on a plate or in a bowl – add more whipped cream and top with the remaining strawberries.
