Growing in the Garden
There is something so satisfying about growing, harvesting, and then eating fresh produce you’ve grown in your garden. In 2024 my garden will be primarily for cut flowers planted with seeds given to me by a dear friend in a seed advent calendar.
- Herbs: The herbs we always have on hand and in our garden include; basil, cilantro, chives, fennel, parsley, rosemary, and thyme.
- Flowers: This will be my third year of planting a cut flower garden and in 2024 I will be focused on expanding my perrenial flowers with several varieties of David Austin roses.
- Fruit: We recently purchased strawberry and raspberry plants for our garden – we have invasive blackberries in the surrounding forest so we don’t need to plant those!
- Vegetables: I’ll be planting just a few vegetables in 2024 – stay tuned for my full list!
