How to Make Cinnamon & Maple Granola
I have been trying to perfect my granola recipe for quite some time and I am happy to share my Cinnamon & Maple Granola recipe which is my favorite version to date! This recipe makes ~ 7-8 cups of granola with all of the delicious mix-in’s. Feel free to add or subtract mix-in items to taste.
Base Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of maple syrup
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons of water
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 4 cups of old fashioned oats
Mix In Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of unsweetened shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup of pepitas
- 1/4 cup quinoa
- 1/4 cup hazelnuts
- 1/4 cup pecans
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons flaxseeds
- 1 cup dried cherries – add at the very end after the granola has cooled
- 2/3 cup chocolate chips – add at the very end after the granola has cooled

Step One: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
Step Two: On a small toaster oven pan or separate baking sheet lined with parchment paper add the shredded coconut, pepitas, quinoa, nuts, sesame seeds & flaxseeds. Toast in the toaster oven for 3-4 minutes or in the oven at 350 degrees for 6-8 minutes until golden brown. Set aside to cool.
Step Three: In a large glass bowl add the maple syrup, vegetable oil, brown sugar, water, vanilla and cinnamon – mix well. Add in the old fashioned oats and mix well so the oats are covered with the maple syrup mixture.
Step Four: Pour the oat mixture onto the baking sheet with parchment and spread the oats out over the entire pan. Bake for 10 minutes, stir, bake for another 10 minutes and stir, finally bake for another 8 minutes, then remove the pan from the oven. Set aside to let cool.
Step Five: Once the mix-in ingredients and oats are cool you can put all of your granola ingredients together – including the dried cherries and chocolate chips. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
Enjoy!
