We live in a complicated and busy world. I crave simplicity in my home, in my relationships and friendships, and in my day to day life. In 2024 I’ll be focused on learning some new skills that will allow me to go back to the basics and I look forward to sharing what I learn with all of you. Here are some of the topics I am going to explore…

- How to Make Homemade Butter – I’m looking forward to trying this on a hot fresh slice of Sourdough! Check out my post on How to Make Homemade Butter
- How to Make Homemade Cleaning Solutions – My goal is to use less chemicals in my home without sacrificing cleanliness (I am a total neat freak).
- Low Waste Simple Living Bathroom Solutions – My goal is to use less plastic and fewer disposable products during my daily get ready routines. I’ll be exploring bar shampoo and conditioner, trying reusable Bamboo cotton squares and swabs, and I’ll share my favorite homemade makeup remover recipe.
- How to Attend Flower School – I’ll be attending flower school in July 2024. This is a one week immersive course offered at a local flower farm and taught by Tallulah Rose Flower School, a UK based organization. - Learning how to Watercolor – In September 2024 I took a watercolor class hosted by Ciderpress Lane and Sarah Simon, The Mint Gardener. It was a lovely afternoon of delicious food, floral design, and learning how to watercolor.
- How to Make Lemon Cucumber Pickles – Last summer I fell in love with lemon cucumbers, I want to grow these in my garden this year and then share the bounty with friends. My lemon cucumbers didn’t take off this summer but I did perfect my Sweet & Spicy Jalapeño Pickles!
- How to Make a Botanical Pumpkin – I have a lot of dried flowers on hand and it would be fun to try them on a white ghost pumpkin. The end result is super cute and fun! Try making one yourself, I provide step by step instructions in this post.
- How to Make Mini Everlasting Wreaths
- How to Make Hot Pepper Jelly – I made this in 2023 and perfected the recipe using locally grown peppers from Island farms. I can’t wait to share it with you!
- How to Make Homemade Vanilla – A friend gives me homemade vanilla every Christmas, it’s the perfect gift. I look forward to learning how to make it to share with others.
