How to make Delicious Jam Turnovers with Glaze

These jam turnovers make an excellent breakfast on the go, snack, or even dessert! These are super simple and amazingly delicious and you can choose whatever flavor of jam you want so there are endless options. When I made these last night I used my homemade strawberry basil jam – my husband absolutely loved them (I think you will too)! Makes 6.

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 6 tablespoons of jam, whatever flavor you want!
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon half and half (you can use milk as a substitute)

Step One: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

Step Two: Roll out the thawed sheet of puff pastry on a large sheet of parchment paper with a rolling pin. This will make your puff pastry nice and thin. Using a knife cut the puff pastry into 6 equal rectangles.

Step Three: Put 1 tablespoon of jam in the top left corner of each rectangle. Fold the bottom right up to the top left and fork the edges closed. Note: You’ll want to make sure each turnover is well sealed otherwise your jam will leak out as it bakes.

Step Four: Mix the egg in a small bowl and brush on the top of each turnover. This will make them a beautiful golden brown.

Step Five: Bake for 14 minutes.

Step Six: While your turnovers are in the oven make the glaze. Melt the butter in a bowl and add the powdered sugar and the half and half (or milk), mix well until fully combined.

Step Seven: When the turnovers are out of oven spread each one with the glaze and let cool for 5 minutes.

Step Eight: Enjoy!

I was born and raised as a farm girl in the Midwest and have spent the past 20 years living in Australia, Hawaii, and the Pacific Northwest working as a marine mammal biologist. I love spending time with family, gardening, being outside, and I enjoy making delicious meals for my friends and family. My beloved mama, Kelly passed away in late 2020 and this website is dedicated to her - she taught me to be a grateful heart and see the beauty that surrounds me in all that I do.
