Refreshing & Delicious Frozen Cherry Limeades

When I was a young girl my Mom would make frozen limeades on hot Midwest summer days – a treat we all enjoyed and it’s a drink that brings up fond childhood memories of life on the farm. I took this simple recipe and added my own twist to it by adding sparkling water and a homemade cherry simple syrup. Follow the simple steps below to make one of your own!

Cherry Simple Syrup – Makes ~ 1 1/2 cups

  • 10 oz. frozen and pitted cherries
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Step One: Place the water, sugar, and frozen cherries into a small uncovered saucepan on medium high for 10 minutes. Let cool.

Step Two: Once the cherry simple syrup is cool put it into a blender (or nutribullet) and mix well.

Step Three: Pour the blended simple syrup into a glass jar and store in the fridge for up to 10 days.

Homemade Cherry Simple Syrup

Frozen Cherry Limeades – Serves 1

  • 3 oz. frozen limeade concentrate (this comes in a 12 oz. can but to make one serving you are just using 1/4th of the can)
  • 1 1/2 cups ice
  • 1/2 cup sparkling water
  • 2 tablespoons homemade cherry simple syrup

Step One: Put all of the above ingredients into a blender (or nutribullet) and blend until fully combined.

Step Two: Serve immediately as it will start to melt.

Step Three: Enjoy! But not too quickly – this can easily give you a brain freeze if you eat it too fast!

Note: If you would like to make a larger batch, to serve 4 for example, use the entire can of frozen limeade, 6 cups of ice, 2 cups of sparkling water, and 1/2 cup of homemade cherry simple syrup. Use a large blender.

I was born and raised as a farm girl in the Midwest and have spent the past 20 years living in Australia, Hawaii, and the Pacific Northwest working as a marine mammal biologist. I love spending time with family, gardening, being outside, and I enjoy making delicious meals for my friends and family. My beloved mama, Kelly passed away in late 2020 and this website is dedicated to her - she taught me to be a grateful heart and see the beauty that surrounds me in all that I do.
